General Information

Narrative-Driven Deckbuilder

Phoenix Protocol is a cyberpunk deckbuilder where you play as a detective whose mind has been transferred into an old operating system, controlling disposable police shells to uncover the truth behind a corporate takeover. Each run lets you refine your command deck, push deeper into Crownpoint, and advance a story that unfolds across repeated missions.

Project Responsibilities

Producer

I helped coordinate development for Phoenix Protocol, organizing sprints, tracking tasks, and keeping the team aligned week to week. I focused on maintaining clear workflows and supporting teammates across design, art, audio, and engineering.

Lead Programmer

I prototyped and built the game’s core systems, including combat flow, map progression, encounter logic, and the card-based command framework. Midway through development, I refactored our early prototypes into a modular architecture that allowed new cards, enemies, and encounters to be added without rewriting major code.

I also created simple internal tools so designers and writers could test content directly, and I handled bug fixing, polish, and project maintenance throughout the sprint cycle.

Key Contributions

  • Built core gameplay systems (combat, map flow, encounters, card resolution)

  • Created a modular architecture for adding new mechanics and content

  • Managed sprint planning and weekly check-ins with the team

  • Implemented tools for testing cards, enemies, and narrative events

  • Coordinated bug triage and final polish passes

  • Maintained the Unity project structure and optimized workflow for the team
